Heavy Armor Master or Athlete or Tavern Brawler if you gave the hair to someone else. Gather your party and venture forth! This is the most speculative option and I'm only considering it because in BG3 you choose your Paladin subclass at level 1 and getting a version of Vow of Enmity at level 1 could be great for crit-fishing with Great Weapon Master. Battle master will do more damage with the superiority dice, the champion will crit slightly more often. The bonus action you get is ULTRA weak compared to other uses of bonus actions (like the one from Great Weapon Master or special gear). Gather your party and venture forth! Goading Attack gives disadvantage when not attacking Lae'zel. My original concept was a spear Saint Build but I kinda switched it to a more spellblade Saint then just straight Weapon no magic and the ice magic caught my eye for that and I also like that at Level 3 you can throw your spear and have it return to you and then at Level 7 you can use i think Champion was a poor choice by Larian. If Know Your Enemy is actually useful in BG3, I think BM would win in my book, but the utility thief brings is pretty cool. I am not the hugest fan of College of Valor, so I prefer to multiclass. So some of that love has carried over but yeah the feat isn’t good in this game so far. e. Trip attack makes the target prone which gives advantage to attacks made within 5ft, and disadvantage to ranged attacks, so it is worse to pick this than a melee Battle Master, and wouldn’t give the ranged character advantage. Battle Masters maneuvers aren't specifically mentioned, but I assume they count as weapon actions. Very negligible losses imo. I have 18 strength and the DC for my superiority dice attacks are 14. At level 3 we choose the Battle-master subclass, granting us access to a mandatory maneuver for this build, Trip attack (ranged). This one is the same as above. Ranger Hunter works very well too in this built if you are looking for less headache and more stable damage. Ranger has 5 very good levels for focusing on ranged weapon attacks as you can pick up Archery, Sharpshooter, and Extra Attack, as well as getting a reasonable spell list and lots of good options for subclass features, but if you want to continue prioritizing ranged weapon attacks then 3 Rogue (Thief) and 3 Fighter (Battle Master) give you some really strong ways forward there, taking another Martial Adept: Obvious choice since it gives me 2 more Battle Master Maneuvers and another superiority die (d6 sadly).
